Corn Salad

Its Latin name, valerianella locusta, perhaps comes from the Latin valere, which means to feel well, due to its calming effect. Dioscorides recommended it as a diuretic and an antidote for poison, Pliny considered it to be an analgesic, while Galen prescribed it as a decongestant.
